Job Description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing the necessary support for all the VSO’s by overseeing the quality functions including:  NPI’s (new product introduction/launch), NEI’s (new and emerging issue), continuous improvement, process control, documentation and standardization.

Your role will involve:

  • Work with the cross functional teams to define the scope of work and establish the NPI process with proper handover strategy/timeline, supported by approved documentations
  • Plan, create and maintain quality standards for all NPI’s
  • Coordinate and communicate pertinent information of the project status or improvement initiative to the team
  • Identify internal and external resources required to support the product development schedule; work with department management to ensure that these resources are assigned to the project
  • Engage with the product/marketing teams to align with quality expectations
  • Create process flow, Control Plans, PFMEA and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Support the Qualification process (e.g. new substrate testing)
  • Identify and attack top issues by creating/updating quality charts and working with the cross functional teams to prioritize and plan the improvement activities/resources
  • Implement controls with new processes by creating new tools or establishing checklists to mitigate risks
  • Collaborate and support plant QE’s CI initiatives by focusing on process control, documentation and standardization
  • Work with Quality supervisor to identify opportunities for improvement and setup Quality Wall/Gate and implement controls to protect the customer
  • Supervise Quality Technician, Quality Inspectors as required
  • Support Global Quality initiatives to address major issues impacting quality

In return you will bring:


  • Degree from an accredited university, preferably BSc. in Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in a Quality/Manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of project lead experience
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Able to multitask
  • ASQ CQE preferred
  • Must have clearly demonstrated problem solving skills as well as good written and verbal communication skills
  • The individual will be hands-on, assertive and motivated
  • Have a passion for excellence in people, processes and analytics
  • Self-motivated, high energy level individual
  • Able to assume or experience in a leadership role
  • Able to communicate at all levels of management
  • Understand ISO requirements: procedures and standards
  • Must have competent knowledge of MS Office Word/Excel/PowerPoint…
