Job Description

Within Vistaprint's expanding global Controllership, this role is a key member of the Waltham accounting team and will be responsible for the coordination and execution of the financial close process for multiple legal entities supported by the local team. The Waltham Controller reports to the Vistaprint Controller.


Key responsibilities include the following areas:


-Assist in maintaining a highly controlled local accounting function in a high-volume ecommerce environment requiring strong accounting and systems knowledge;

-Managing, supervising and developing a team of five direct reports; 

-Managing the monthly and quarterly accounting close cycle for five Vistaprint locations;  

-Driving consistency and accuracy through process execution combined with an understanding of financial statement risk;

-Owning and reviewing calculations and account reconciliations prepared by accounting staff as well as Accounts Payable payments and the bi-weekly payroll process;

-Preparing and reviewing financial statement analysis to improve visibility into trends and key metrics as well as owning various internal reporting deliverables;

-Ensuring adherence to accounting guidance (US GAAP) and global policies;

-Driving continuous improvement efforts and projects to improve the efficiency and quality of the local accounting and control function;

-Developing talented accounting professionals through focus on training and learning opportunities;

-Ownership of key control documentation and execution in-line with SOX 404;

-Support of the local audit process with our internal and external auditors;

-Other projects and tasks, as assigned.




-The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of accounting experience within an established publicly traded company or within the public accounting space; 

-The person's background should include core competencies in US GAAP accounting, management reporting and process execution through a moderately sized accounting team;

-Experience with a large ERP system (SAP preferred); 

-Licensed CPA preferred.
