Vistaprint is seeking a photography project manager to join its Creative Services team and manage the capture and production of high-quality product photography assets for our worldwide marketing and web site campaigns.


In this role, the photography project manager will work closely with the in-house new product photographer, and imaging team, to coordinate in-house photos shoots for our new products and to then prioritize and manage all post production workflow with our internal production studio team as well as external retouching vendors. The photography project manager will be responsible for communicating and maintaining all deadlines and ensuring that images are delivered onto the digital asset management (DAM) platform in a timely manner and with all required metadata.


To succeed in this role, you must have strong project management skills and a proven ability to coordinate and manage all details associated with photography shoots and post production activities. The photography project manager must be extremely detail-oriented and highly proactive, capable of juggling numerous priorities at once. You will also need to possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills as you interact with a wide range of project stakeholders and resources to align expectations, ensure that timelines are understood, negotiate trade-offs, and ensure that all photography is being delivered on time and with the highest quality.


 Key Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with internal NPI photographer to schedule/coordinate day-to-day product photography shoots
  • Coordinate image post production scheduling with internal production studio teams (in North America and Tunisia) as well as with external retouchers. Plan all image production capacity and negotiate resource allocation based on image and project priorities.
  • Work closely with imaging team manager and other photography project manager(s) to proactively manage overall post-production queue for the internal Agency, prioritize projects, and schedule work with internal and external resources
  • Manage queue of scene rendering projects in support of NPI product launches on Balance scene project capacity against requests for scenes from other parts of the business.
  • Coordinate product sample delivery and logistics with product marketing team in advance of all photo shoots
  • Ensure photo brief documents contain all required information. Work with project stakeholders (Product Marketing, PRISM team, etc.) to track down missing information/details as needed.
  • Assist with photo select uploading into digital asset management (DAM) platform and in accordance with established procedures. Some data entry (adding metadata to photography assets) will be required. Manage post production workflow.
  • Suggest ways to constantly improve and innovate photography post production workflows


Essential Skills:

  • Project management background
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal marketing partners and project team members
  • Excellent organization and follow-through skills
  • Solid understanding of photography and image post-production processes
  • Must have high attention to detail, experience with high volume projects with quick turns
  • Ability to work and communicate with remote team members on a daily basis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with PC and MAC platforms and MS Office suite of applications
  • Strong desire to learn new skills
  • Sense of humor is a must

Education & Experience: 

  • 2-4 years of experience working in a creative agency (internal or external) as a project manager or traffic manager. Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Process-oriented background, constantly looking for ways to streamline, innovate and improve workflows and maximize efficiencies
  • 2-5 years of experience managing photography shoots and/or image post-production work.
  • A working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is helpful (but not required). Basic retouching skills would also be helpful.
  • Prior experience working with a digital asset management (DAM) system is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work to strict deadlines in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment.
