What will you do as a Lean Specialist?


As a Lean Specialist in the Venlo facility you will support the operational departments to initiate and realize product and process improvements. You will take part in projects on behalf of the Venlo manufacturing plant and will assist engineering and operations with (technical) support for ad-hoc issues. You will also manage and coordinate the local team of Lean engineers.


In your role:


  • You will support the plant director and his management team to drive continuous improvement in all dimensions (safety, quality, cost and service) by sharing and implementing best practices.
  • You will pro-actively signal improvement opportunities and will prepare improvement suggestions to the business owners. Together with the global lean team, you will apply the Cimpress Production System (CPS) in the own facility.
  • You will lead (local) project teams, introduce new lean methodologies and will carry out local policies. You will protect the lean culture within the facility.
  • You will support all operational, engineering and staff departments in Venlo for training purposes, continuous improvement projects incl. Kaizen workshops and problem solving methodologies.
  • You will be the main sparring partner for the master planner and local operations and facilities teams regarding lay-out changes and new product/process introductions.
  • You will represent Venlo in global teams within your discipline.
  • You will coordinate the local team of Lean engineers, set the roadmap for the team and act as their coach and mentor.


In return, you will bring:


  • Bachelor in Industrial / Mechanical / Chemical engineering or Automotive.
  • Proven experience in leading successful cross-functional teams and driving the implementation of Lean initiatives.
  • Experience in leading and/or participation in projects.
  • 5+ years of Lean & Six Sigma experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate skill level of AutoCAD drawing is a big plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, Dutch and German is a plus.
  • Excellent skills in problem solving and analytical thinking.
  • Experience with flow design and work cell layout design.
