Vistaprint is currently seeking an energetic UX Researcher to join our Digital Products team.  In this role, you will be responsible for driving customer insights that directly impact our strategy and roadmap. For this position, we are looking for a passionate individual with a broad range of skills in qualitative and design research methods and a working understanding of quantitative concepts. The right candidate will be an excellent communicator, knowledgeable about UI design, passionate about digital marketing for small businesses, comfortable in a fast moving organization, and excited to collaborate with product managers, designers and developers to help us build product experiences that help small businesses succeed with online marketing.

 

User Experience Researcher

 

In this role, you will reveal what our customers need from our digital products by conducting primary research, exploring the motivations and behaviors of our users, and collaborating with teams of designers, product managers, engineers and others to develop new features. You’ll inspire innovation at all stages of product development by delivering exciting oral, written and visual presentations about your findings. Most importantly, your job as a researcher is to help the product team understand what would make a user’s experiences feel more intuitive, accessible, fun—and even magical.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead UX research:  conduct interviews, develop surveys, and complete other usability assessments including phone surveys and heuristic evaluations.
  • Work with designers, product managers, engineers, and research managers to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Prepare moderator script based on testing goals & moderate sessions; Prepare post-session surveys
  • Tabulate and analyze results, considering competitor websites and industry best practices
  • Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations.
  • Collect and analyze user behavior through server logs, online experiments (A/B testing), benchmark studies, lab studies, and surveys.
  • Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research. 

Minimum qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Social Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of work experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, SPSS and remote usability testing tools, such as UserTesting, Webex or others.
  • Internet and online marketing experience.
  • Strong understanding of quantitative, behavioral analysis and statistical concepts.
  • Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
  • Deep familiarity with new methods of product development, including agile development, design thinking, and design sprints.
  • Ability to ask, as well as answer, meaningful and impactful questions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills.
